Jazz Dance is marked by movement isolation's and complex, propulsive polyrhythms. It is an outgrowth of African-American ragtime, jazz, spirituals, blues, work songs, and so forth and is considered an American dance style. The music that is used in class can be jazz or pop. This is an upbeat class. While having fun a student will also learn the correct Jazz technique.

Ages: 5yrs and above

Dance Wear:

  • Girls: Leotard, tights, dance shorts or dance capris that are above the knee.
  • Boys: sweatpants and t-shirt

Dance Shoes: nude Jazz half boot

All hair must be pulled back out of the face. If pony tail is longer than the shoulder blades; the hair must be in a bun.   The only jewelry that can be worm in class is stud earrings
