About Vocal Instructor: Amanda Rodman
Amanda Rodman has been teaching private lessons in voice, flute, and piano for over 20 years, with many students who continue on to pursue their own careers in music! She is the founder of Alpha Tots, a music class for young children, and recently started a children’s choir at her own church. Amanda has a passion for music and loves sharing it with her students. As a teacher, she often arranges music for her students to fit their learning needs and skill levels. At the University of Michigan-Flint, she has participated in the opera outreach program, including a lead role in the opera “Hansel and Gretel”, UM-Flint’s first full-stage operatic production. Amanda currently performs and tours with UM-Flint’s Chorale and Chamber Singers, The Carolyn Mawby Chorale, and as a solo performer in recitals, choral concerts, local churches, and other venues.
Amanda holds degrees in music, fine arts, and education from Mott Community College, and is a member of the American Choral Directors Association. She is actively pursuing yet another degree from UM-Flint in Music Education. She is a dedicated wife and mother to four children, three cats, and a dog, and has recently discovered a new hobby, gardening.
