Why On Pointe School of Dance? To start the atmosphere is open and
friendly; the teachers are upbeat and have a love for the art. My
daughter Lauren started dancing at On Pointe at the age of two; she will
be entering her fourth year as an On Pointe dancer. When Lauren started
she was still attached to the mommy's leg and would not go into class
without me. Christy and Leslie openly let me sit in the corner as a
source of comfort to Lauren. Before long, she was going in and dancing
up a storm.

Christy and Leslie are another huge reason that we love On Pointe.
Leslie handles all the details of costumes, tuition, newsletters, etc.
and still helps teach classes. She is the direct liaison for the
parents, where she is open and available for any and all questions or
concerns. Christy is the choreographer, teacher and mentor. Christy is
a truly gifted dancer. She takes her love of the art and her love for
kids and puts them together in a remarkable way. Christy has taken her
love of dance and given it to my daughter; Lauren idolizes her. I have
watched Christy take the older girls under her wing and truly mentor
them; she is a wonderful role model.

Again, Why On Pointe School of Dance? My best reply is Why not? We
love the school the staff and the atmosphere, Lauren will be dancing at
On Pointe for years to come.

If you are thinking of enrolling your child in dance, On Pointe is the
studio for you. I presently have two daughters enrolled at On Pointe School
of Dance...I am extremely pleased with the dance training my children as
receiving. My youngest daughter, Tayah, takes part in Ballet and Tap
through the Babies program taught by Ms. Leslie. Tayah is developing basic
skills, discipline, and a love for dance through Mrs. Leslie guidance and
encouragement. Technique and a confidence seem to be the focus of Ms.
Christy's Ballet and Ms. Jenna's Hip Hop class. My oldest daughter Calla
is crazy about dance. My husband and I are always getting invited to dance
shows that Calla organizes on her own at home. Calla wants to grow up to be
like Ms. Christy. I believe Calla is always being challenged to her
fullest potential by her instructors. Dance plays a vital role in my
children lives because it promotes physical exercise, self-confidence,
discipline and FUN all at the same time. On Pointe also does an amazing job of showcasing the
kids at the spring recital.

What a great studio to dance for! My daughter has been dancing at On Pointe for over 2 years now and I could not be happier. I think this is a top-notch, very well run studio that does wonderful things for the kids. They put on a first class, well run recital that we enjoy watching over and over again on the video tapes. It is obvious that Christy and Leslie love what they do because it shows through their dedication. I’m glad that my daughter is a part of such a great place!

One of the most essential elements of dance is proper technique. There is always a certain way to execute a step and many details that can make a move look completely different from if that particular detail was ignored. Unfortunately, few studios concentrate on the proper technique and many dancers form bad habits for this reason.

On Pointe is one of the rare studios that primarily focuses on proper technique rather than competitions, costumes, or other trivial aspects of dance. Christy and Leslie begin teaching children the essential aspects of good technique (such as turnout, alignment, and control) at a very young age. These children grow to become great dancers because they form good habits early on.

However, On Pointe still manages to have a friendly atmosphere while teaching strict technique. The teachers always have time to answer questions for students and are patient enough to work with a student until the movement is perfect. Also, the older students have the opportunity to choreograph their own solos for shows and occasional competitions. This makes learning dance more fun. Other studios only highlight a few dancers while the rest are always placed in the back corner where they are never noticed.

On Pointe is an ideal dance studio for these reasons: Christy and Leslie manage to teach proper dance technique, yet provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for the students.

We noticed a dance school being built in Metamora a few years back. Our daughters had danced at a large dance school in Rochester. They were happy with their current school, but they said “Let’s check On Pointe out”. So we attended their first open house. As soon as we met Christy and Leslie, we knew we had to change studios, we are very happy that we did.

The first thing we noticed was that the kids were happy and very challenged. The challenge was to nail down proper technique, we had never had a teacher (in 13 years if dance) who concentrated on technique. This became quite a challenge, but with personal attention that is given to each student, learning the proper way became an obsession. We love the fact that the girls come home happy that they went to dance, the dances are fun! We saw that they were practicing on their own more often than they ever had before.

After the first recital, we were amazed at how much they had learned and advanced. We feel that they learned three times more at On Pointe School of Dance than they had at any other studio. On Pointe School of Dance is definitely the best studio we have ever attended. We feel that Christy and Leslie are in this business because they want to share their talents with the kids, this reflects strongly on the dancers.

Our only regret that our kids didn’t have the opportunity to dance at On Pointe from the early years. Thank you On Pointe for a healthy, happy, professional environment for our dancers.

To me, dance is truly an amazing sport. Thanks to On Pointe, the entire dance experience is made into a wonderful experience. Over the eleven years that I have danced and six studios I have danced at; On Pointe is by far my favorite studio. I would have to say that On Pointe is so amazing because of the outstanding technique, the choreography and the way that On Pointe can make dance into such a fun and enriching sport.

The teachers at On Pointe are very encouraging, kind and teach such amazing technique. All of the technique and skill that Christy and Leslie teach their students carry over into the rest of the student’s dance career.

Dancing at On Pointe has enriched my life with so many new opportunities and skills. I have received a lot of education on many subjects in dance; such as technique, posture and choreography skills. Over the course of the three years I’ve danced at On Pointe, I’ve learned more than the 8 years of dance at other studios combined! On Pointe has not only educated me in dance, but it has given me so many good memories and great experiences. I have made many new friends, I get a lot of exercise and I’ve learned to be a healthier person! Dancing at On Pointe makes me feel involved in a sport and it also helps me to set and achieve goals for myself.

Basically, dance has made me a happier and healthier person. I learn so much from it and my entire life benefits from the sport. I truly enjoy dance!
